About the Foundation

Fundacja Via Sonoria was born of a passion for music and the need to support and promote musical culture in Poland and abroad. Our mission is to develop and nurture the cultural interests of diverse social groups, especially children, young people and the musically gifted. We work to make our musical heritage more widely known, to support local cultural initiatives and to promote artistic talent.

The Foundation is actively involved in educational and artistic projects that not only support the development of music education but also foster cooperation between different cultural communities. We work with cultural institutions, music schools and artists, organising concerts, workshops, educational programmes and events that promote music in all its forms.

Weinberg’s 24 Preludes: the first complete recording by a Polish performer

In 2026 Fundacja Via Sonoria is making the first complete recording by a Polish performer of the 24 Preludes for solo cello by Mieczysław Weinberg. The project is led by cellist Zuzanna Sosnowska and is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage under the ‘Muzyczny ślad 2026’ (Musical Trace) programme.

The project ‘Polish Chamber Music Through the Centuries’ sets out to show how Polish chamber music developed across the eras. Its concerts present works by outstanding but often underrated Polish composers such as Franciszek Lessel, Grzegorz Fitelberg and Andrzej Panufnik.

Polish Chamber Music in Chopin’s Shadow

The project promotes the work of Polish composers contemporary with Fryderyk Chopin who remained in the shadow of his fame. Its concerts present, among others, works by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński and Fryderyk Chopin, highlighting their artistic value and their place in the history of European music.

Fundacja Via Sonoria Scholarship Programme
